The tax on large fortunes in Andalusia, according to powers

Córdoba, (EFE).- The Minister of Justice, Local Government and Public Administration, José Antonio Nieto, stated on Thursday that Andalusia is a new temporary tax for large fortunes on which the government works “if it doesn’t invade competitions”.

Speaking to journalists, after signing the PFEA co-financing agreement with the representatives of the eight provincial councils in Córdoba, Nieto explained that “the content of that proposal” of a tax on large fortunes formulated by the minister unknown from the Treasury, María Jesús Montero.

Andalusia will defend the statute of autonomy

“The Treasury Department has very strong powers to set new tax rates,” Nieto said. Therefore, if it “is within the purview of the government of Spain, we will like it more, or we will like it less”, but the administration will not have “responsiveness”.

However, if the new estimate of a tax for large fortunes “invades an autonomous competition”, the president of the Junta de Andalucía, Juanma Moreno, «has already made it clear that we will not allow the Andalusian self-government to be reduced by one iota».

For this reason, Nieto has warned the president of the Spanish government, Pedro Sánchez, and the finance minister that “if they are given that temptation, they should give up”, as Andalusia “will respond by defending the statute of autonomy”.

“Serene” debate adapted to “reality” on PFEA

On the other hand, Nieto has called for a “quiet debate” about the “present and future” of the Agricultural Employment Promotion Plan (PFEA) for his “adaptation” to the “social and economic realities of the municipalities of Andalusia in the 21st century”.

After signing the PFEA co-financing agreement with the representatives of the eight provincial councils, Nieto recalled that this plan is one of the “major projects that only occur in Andalusia and Extremadura” and where “manpower is the priority” . .

“Unfortunately, in many cities in Andalusia, inland and rural areas, it is very difficult to get a job for a year,” Nieto argued. The “only way” is with “support from all administrations” to “activate a stopgap solution” such as the PFEA, formerly known as PER, he added.

The confidential counselor has relied on the “loyalty of all” from “respect for differences” and “listening to the opinions of each of the municipalities” and “political formations”. All this in order to “continue to improve this plan and to continue to defend that Andalusia and Extremadura have this singularity positively”.

Best content and largest amount for 2023-2024

He added that he does not believe that “the controversy that may arise over this is positive” and has opted for “dialogue” and “debate in joint work”. In this way, the ministry will “promise” that the 2022/2023 plan will be implemented “in the best conditions” and that the next will have “a larger amount, better content and greater flexibility in its implementation”.

Finally, it has shown Andalusia’s willingness to “increase” the amount allocated to the plan in “the same proportion” as the government does in the case of “making a special contribution to this PFEA”. Mainly in the “materials” section, the cost of which increases due to the effects of inflation. EFE
