London, Sept 23 (EFE).- Swiss Roger Federer retired from his professional career with a defeat to Americans Jack Sock and Frances Tiafoe (4-6, 7-6 (2) and 11-9), along with Spain’s Rafael Nadal and in the tournament he created, the Laver Cup.

Federer ended a 24-year career, leaving behind 20 Grand Slam titles, 103 tournament wins, 310 weeks as a number, and one of the most elegant and colorful styles of play in history.

Federer, accompanied by his family and mentored by his friend Nadal, put the finishing touches to his sports career in the city where he was crowned with eight Wimbledons, more than any other man in history.

Due to the defeat of the ‘Fedal’ couple, Europe is third after the dispute on the first day of competition of the Laver Cup.
